Tracing Wastelands is a collaborative platform between the Government Office for Science [ 1 ] and a group of interdisciplinary practitioners working at the interface of Art and Science.

GO Science is writing their annual report on the topic of waste [ 2 ], and we have evolved our responses in exchange with policy makers, scientists and sector experts, exploring the topography of wasted resources.

The exchange has so far resulted in the first of a series of exhibitions [ 3 ] and images contributed for publication in the report.

¬ Reflection on Circular Economy

An installation exploring one of the policy concepts in the report, the circular economy [ 4 ] . The piece subverts the normal parameters of diagrammatic representation.

Differentiating colour replaced by a uniform tone. Concrete forces such as entropy returned to the concept space, and the stability of a two-dimensional system map explored in a three-dimensional state of suspended collapse, gravity and tension.
