 ¬ UNFOLDING REALITIES

   Exhibition Space Design

Curation

Each exhibitor having spaces designed to their work exhibits a cluster of works with a focus on process.

These clusters are related across space by gestalt groupings of alignment and angle. With intervals of material volume and space.

Avoiding simple symetries, repetitions or conventional spatial arrangements.

Using the requirements of the 21 exhibitors:

[wall/floorspace/suspension/height/enclosed/raised/open]

And the values of the space:

[3 story height/ moving natural light/ population movement]

Modular solutions to exhibiting requirements and space provided morphological choices.

CURATION

A collective representing emerging and outsider artists. The exhibition was held at the HIVE Dalston, a Human Interest Versatile Environment. The exhibition was comprised of 25 artists, in multiple media.

¬ TRACING WASTELANDS

CURATION, EXHIBITING ARTIST

In the venue 'THE DEPOT' in Clapton, an old tram depot with a distressed white cube interior, the exhibited work being the work of several artists in response to the government office for science annual report, this one being on the theme of waste. The curation, in partnership with Ellie Armstrong, aimed to balance and contrast the textural, formal and ambient qualities of the space, with the properties of the work in tone, volume and form creating gestalt groupings.

Meaning doesn't function in isolation. Part of the practice is the creation of contexts. The curation of exhibitions, the design of exhibition spaces, the organisation of events, talks, discussions.
