The Ideographic residency was held at the CUBE London [ 1 ] an interdisciplinary community for science, techology and design. The residency project focused on interdisciplinary research and brought together a network of scientists, artists, anthropologists and others to interrogate a question that defied disciplinary boundaries.
"Is there a correlation between spikes in social evolution and interdisciplinary cultures"

Exploring history, sociology, anthropology, technology, the project hosted discussions, lectures and exhibitions demonstrating the research through artifacts and events.

¬ SUMMARY

In order for six artists with distinct visual practices to collaborate in a shared conceptual space, certain underlying limitations and parameters were agreed upon.
The artists employed a connective linear framework to indicate correspondence and relation between different elements of the enquiry, a shared palette of colours, framing devices and tonal technqiues, and collaborative installations such as timelines to allow synthesis of research elements into unified fields.
